THE 10 MOST IMPORTANT PIECES OF EQUIPMENT ON YOUR BOAT

You won’t be able to fully enjoy the boating experience if you don’t feel safe and secure. That’s why you should always make sure your boat is properly equipped with all the necessary safety and navigational equipment before venturing out on the water.
Opinions may vary on this subject, but we feel the marine accessory items listed below are most important to the overall safety of recreational boaters (not in any particular order).

1. Fixed-mount VHF radio (preferably DSC-enabled)
2. Handheld VHF radio (as back-up)
3. Fixed-Mount GPS or GPS/Chartplotter
4. Handheld GPS w/ mapping capability (as back-up)
5. High quality marine compass
6. Radar
7. USCG-approved Personal Floatation Devices (PFDs) and “throw rings”
8. Complete and fully-stocked first-aid kit
9. EPIRB
10. Sounder or depth gauge
