VHF radio (preferably DSC-enabled)
2. Handheld VHF radio (as back-up)
3. Fixed-Mount GPS or GPS/Chartplotter
4. Handheld GPS w/ mapping capability (as back-up)
5. High quality marine compass
6. Radar
7. USCG-approved Personal Floatation Devices (PFDs) and “throw
rings”
8. Complete and fully-stocked first-aid kit

10. Sounder or depth gauge
