I've received the camera, and am thrilled it is so compact and pretty easy to use since my previous 5000 was so bulky and no one could EVER take a decent photo of US whenever needed (they simply couldn't grasp my instructions on how to use the button and were always too cautious with it which drastically affected the photo quality - if it turned out at all), even though the photos I took of others usually turned out pretty good. This Christmas' photos of us was the final straw as none of them turned out so we have no decent photos of us to document the occasion. I've tried comparing the photos taken with the 6100 against my old Coolpix 5000 but only had space to take 4-5 photos because MEMORY CARD IS NOT INCLUDED, nor is this stated anywhere on the site or page for the camera itself. That is the biggest inconvenience thus far. I've called Ritz and asked them to add this as it is imperative for a buyer to know this in advance so they can order it at the SAME TIME. Back to quality of photos, not certain yet. I compared two photos of myself and the 6100's photo seemed much softer on the computer screen in Jasc Photoshop, whereas the 5000's was quite bright and harsh. On the other hand, the 5000 has really been too much camera for me, it was a gift, and I haven't had the interest to read the manual to figure out all settings. since I have no desire to use it for anything other than basic photos of family, friends, special occasions, etc. With the 6100 tho, I can't tell whether the softness also equates to blurry and I don't want to waste photo paper until I have a decent photo(s)- with the new memory card that I'm now waiting to receive... Hopefully I can provide another review in the near future to assist others with their potential purchase of this item.
