|Automatic Bilge Pump Switching with Built-In High Water Level Alarm Feature|
This pump switch is in the off postion when the float is at the bottom of its housing. When the magnetic float rises 1-1/4" the switch turns on the pump. If the pump cannot remove the water as fast as it is coming in and the float rises another 1" then the alarm circuit is activated. The alarm circuit is normally open (and can carry a current limited to 100mA max). Switches with a normally closed alarm circuit (used on Bertram boats) can be special ordered.

Comments about Ultra Safety Senior Ultra Bilge Pump Switch, 12V:
I have installed two on my personal boat and many on others boats. The alarm function is fantastic and the only problem is the screw that holds the bottom for cleaning strips very easy. When you call the manufacturer they simply say this isn't their fault and they offer to sell you a new one.
The switch works well enough I did my own repair by drilling and tapping the plastic and screwed it together, the plastic and stainless don't seize- probably what the manufacturer could have done to eliminate the problem in the first place!
I would still recommend this switch over any I have had.
