The popular Quick Genius horizontal windlass has a corrosion resistant anodized aluminum body, and no underdeck mechanical components. A manual free-fall mechanism releases the gypsy allowing for quick anchor lowering in deep water, or when fishing or entering a crowded anchorage. Automatic Free-Fall (Genius FF) models (shown at bottom) feature fingertip electric push-button control over the gypsy clutch. Simply push the “down” button on the windlass, and the clutch releases; pushing the “up” button slowly engages the clutch - a simple, elegant solution which dispenses with kneeling and maneuvering a handle to engage the free-fall function.
