Comments about Cole Hersee Continuous Duty Solenoid Dpst 12V Continuous Duty Solenoid:
This product works great! Only con I would have is that there weren't specifications on the website and I had to make a call to the manufacturer to get more info. Current draw of the solenoid coil is 750 mA @ 12 VDC (9 watts). Current carrying capacity of terminals is 85 amps. Terminal lugs are 5/16" diameter bolts. I am using this device to switch between two battery charging systems, one from the engine alternator, the other a photovoltaic solar array. It works perfectly for this application. I have the solar running through the Normal Closed terminals (15 amp continuous) and the engine alternator running through the Normal Open terminals (20 – 60 amps continuous). Solenoid is run from an ignition wire, so when the engine is on, I switch to the higher amperage charging source. So far the unit has functioned flawlessly. Very nice construction and sturdy. I would recommend this product.
