The GPSMAP 60CSx is a refreshing upgrade of the GPSMAP 60CS, one of our most popular models for outdoor and marine use. This unit features a removable microSD card for detailed mapping memory and a waterproof, rugged housing. The microSD card slot is located inside the waterproof battery compartment. Users can load map data and transfer routes and waypoints through the units fast USB connection. In addition, this unit features a new, highly sensitive GPS receiver that acquires satellites faster and lets users track their location in challenging conditions, such as heavy foliage or deep canyons. The GPSMAP 60CSx also incorporates a barometric altimeter for extremely accurate elevation data and an electronic compass that displays an accurate heading while standing still. Considered the mainstay among serious outdoor enthusiasts, the GPSMAP 60CSx and GPSMAP 60Cx offer a large color TFT display and turn-by-turn routing capability. Each unit comes with a blank 64 MB microSD card. Owners of these new x-series handhelds can also purchase new microSD cards that are pre-loaded with MapSource Topo and inland lake maps, BlueChart marine cartography, and City Navigator street maps. I love this GPS after using on several trips. It’s very accurate, easy to use; fun to use and it gives you all the confidence in the world while driving around strange towns. If you decide to go off your route it will quickly recalculate automatically. After four months with this unit I told my wife “I can’t imagine what it would be like without this GPS. I feel the same way about the microwave. What did we used to do without one?”
After a ton of research this unit was picked because it is accurate, its versatility, dependability, waterproofing (up to 3 meters for 30 minutes) portability, and ease of use.
You get what you pay for! You’re paying for a great product. Now you also need to buy the maps to go with it and I bought a 2GB memory card so I can fit the whole N. America map and take it with me.
I also love to Geocache (Treasure Hunting Geocaching.com) with my kids and you not only find treasures but cool places you never knew existed.
I hike and fish so this goes where I go, in the car, on the boat or on my hip. You won’t be disappointed

This is a small unit with a big screen(for the size). It works very well. My favorite features are the SD card expansion to download the east coast (if you like). The other nice feature is the high quality mapsource maps.

In a side by side comparison of various Magellan ans Garmin units, [...] in Anchorage, this unit had the best reception. I used it on a recent 4 day snowmachine trip and it always picked up 9 or 10 satellites.
