One mile vis should be enough if someone is looking for you. TSA stopped me with carryon, put in checked luggage. Easy on meant dead batteries after flight: take bats out until use. Suggested silicone grease on threads, I used syth. waterproof
grease from pep boys. Use high on clothes or life jack to avoid banging plastic. It should stay with you for a long time for the price, good luck.

This was a product I was very excited to find as it fit the safety niche I was looking to fill. The strobe was key but the flashlight made it perfect for sea kayaking when I got caught out late & needed a flashlight. The unit functioned very well but the clear lenses cracked very easily and let moisture in. I also loved the idea of having a flashlight on my vest when I was offshore in my 22" boat fishing at night as well. Just a nice additional safety back up.
