Outstanding, consistent, reliable lens. Excellent range makes this a great choice for a walk-around lens. Sharp output is sure to please even picky photogs. Built like a tank, and 62mm filters are easy to find.

Advisory when using DT lenses with full-frame (35mm equivalent) DSLR cameras.
Sony α (alpha) lenses with the Digital Technology (DT) designation are ideal for use on APS-C size DSLR cameras and are not recommended for use with full frame DSLR camera bodies (such as the DSLR-A900). Although DT lenses can be used with full frame cameras, they can only realize a maximum of 11MP image size (when using the DSLR-A900), and are not guaranteed to provide accurate Auto Exposure performance.
I have test it in Micro mode with clean shots even it not a Micro lens it work well.

This Lens is one that can be left on the camera for almost all purposes. I use it for fast action sports and applications where shooting in low light is my only choice. I'll admit it was a bit of a hit in the wallet but I hope to get years of use out of it.
