The Turbo Rattler is a small, hollow cone-shaped device that has a lead line tube down its middle. Looking down from the top, the cone has fins that are set on an angle from the lead line tube, so that as the cone is drawn through the water, it spins.
Inside the cone there are a couple of chambers, each of which is filled with ball bearing balls. As the cone rotates in the water, these balls roll around inside the chambers, crashing against the sides of the cone, making an awful racket, and sending lots of vibrations down the line.
When the Turbo Rattler is used in a live rig, with a live bait fish, the sound and the vibrations keep that bait fish active longer. This stresses the bait fish and causes it to emit a "distress signal" that can be smelled by the fish you're targeting. This is why we say that the Turbo Rattler drives fish nuts.
When you use the Turbo Rattler in a dead bait rig, the sound and the vibrations increase the amount of lure motion, which is sensed by the fish you're trying to catch. This makes a dead bait rig look more like live bait and increases your chances of a strike. And that's why we say that the Turbo Rattler brings dead bait to life.
