Sikkens Cetol Marine is a durable, long-lasting, semi-transparent satin wood finish made of a special oil-alkyd resin combination and selected ultra violet absorbing pigments, resulting in superior weathering protection for teak and other commonly used woods found on the interiors and exteriors of boats. Cetol MarineÆs use of synthetic transparent iron oxide pigments delivers maximum protection from UV rays to the wood, ensures optimum visibility of the wood grain, and enhances the appearance of the wood. Application results in a durable, microporous, and flexible surface film that offers long term water repellency to protect the wood from the marine environment, that allows for the expansion and contraction of the wood to prevent the finish from cracking, and that allows moisture to escape from the wood to keeping the moisture content of the wood stable, preventing blistering.
