Comments about Minn Kota Minn Kota Trolling Motor Plug MKR-20:

Rather than taking the chance that my trolling motor will grow legs when I'm out of its sight, this plug makes it easy to install/remove it from the transom. I also extended the cables and remounted the battery to the front for better weight distribution.

Comments about Minn Kota Minn Kota Trolling Motor Plug MKR-20:

This plug works great on my Boston Whaler Montauk. There is no location to mount a recessed or panel plug. This plug sits in my bilge well aft and when I need to use my transom-mount trolling motor (55lb, 12V), I switch on the trolling battery and plug it in. I can remove the trolling motor and simply unplug at the transom. The trolling/house battery remains in the console.
I recommend 6 ga. tinned marine wire. Don't skimp on the copper, you'll only end up with corrosion and voltage loss.
The plug is brittle plastic and may crack/break if stepped on against a solid hull.
