    these are great reels,i think some fisherman don,t wash them very well after a day or two fishing in saltwater.like any reel i don,t care who makes it,you need to wash and clean and oil them. i have 4 of these
    reels never had a problem.

    This reel is not made for salt water . Ive owned two of them they fall apart in about a month if you fish often. Dont waste your money.

    I have had two of these, and both came apart. Captiva reels will not hold up to the harsh saltwater environment. Bearings, gears, and shaft will rust and the thing will eventually come apart.

    Very smooth, Perfect for live lining 34 striper no problem. Also great for casting into schools with small buck tails while trolling. Fit and finish great. Everyone I have had on boat that used it has since bought one.

    this reel is not durable and can not stand saltwater. i had a pompano on the line and the reel all the sudden broke. when i took it apart, the ball bearings were rusted and corroded. not recomended
