This item failed to hold the boat seat on to the boat. It repeatedly allowed the seat to come off thus dumping the seated (adult) person on the deck, even while not under way. The item is dangerous. Worse yet, there is no way to alter the structure so it can be bolted down. This item might work for a smaller than average person if the clamps could be screwed down enough, but they can not: the thumb nuts and the position of the nuts do not allow the use of tools and they cannot be tighted enough by hand.
