Brand: Garelick
Located in: outboard motors
Outboards motors were not designed to be carried by hand! They are awkward, bulky, and extremely heavy. Before you hurt yourself or your outboard, invest in a rolling motor carrier by Garelick. Made of sturdy corrosion resistant aluminum tubing, these carriers are great for storage and moving of outboard motors. Will hold any standard shaft outboard up to 30 hp or 130 lbs.

Comments about Garelick Garelick Outboard Motor Carrier:

This is a great outboard motor caddy. It is sturdy and easy to handle. If there were to be an improvement, it would be to add a floor for the tank storage area, and a back. That way it could hold different tank sizes or a battery for an electric start motor.

TOHATSU 9.8 hp IS TOO HEAVY
By Summer's KissVerified Purchaser from Minneapolis, MN on 12/3/2008
Pros:
Hard wheels, Very good fit and finish
Cons:
Base dimensions too small
Best Uses:
Small outboards
Describe Yourself:
Recreational
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Garelick Garelick Outboard Motor Carrier:

Only issue with this is that the support posts need to angle further to the front so that the base is longer. With my 80 lb 9.8hp Tohatsu on the stand it is a bit tippy because of this. I ended up putting a 2x4 under the front foot rest to angle the whole thing back a bit to get the weight more towards the rear. This greatly helps the stability.

Great to hold your Outboard Engine while you do the maintanance etc...or for storing all winter long...Nicely wide spaced handles to fo stability when moving around. Rubber handle good be a little better...but they are fine for the usage.

Comments about Garelick Garelick Outboard Motor Carrier:

This is a smart, useful tool. For anyone with an outboard engine, this is a must. If you own an outboard, you know that it is always in the way. The engines are dirty, and difficult to pick up. With the carrier, those issues dissappear. Very useful tool, and must for my garage.

Comments about Garelick Garelick Outboard Motor Carrier:

Got this because my new 4 cycle outboard is 40 pounds heavier than the old 2cycle. Wrestling 80 lbs of outboard motor in and out of the garage was doable. 120 lbs took the fun out of it. I think a lot of portable outboard owners will be buying these when they find out the new 4 cycle outboards aren't so "portable" anymore. This carrier is rated for 130 lbs, and it will probably handle that weight for short trips, say from the boat to a secure stand. However, seeing how my 120 lb motor makes it bend and sway, I wouldn't store the motor on it for an extended period of time. The handles are angled out for stability, but they are to wide, as you need a lot of room to wheel this where you want to go. The tires may be ok for those with paved or cement driveways, but are to small and narrow for those of us with gravel or crushed stone. Overall, for the price, I think it's a great value and one that many new 4 cycle "portabe" outboard owners would be happy with. Oh, and about putting it together. Do yourself a favor and print out a picture of it. There are no illustrations in the directions, and a picture helps make sense of the text.
