This is my second Garelick bracket. The first one failed and couldn't be repaired. This latest bracket is two years old and has not really been used very much. It is built heavier than the first one but there seems to be a design flaw or material failure in the bracket. After about 20 trips the bolts, made of SS, have worked aginst the frame of aluminum and distorted the holes out of round. The result is the bracket has sagged about four inches and drags in the water under way. My motor is a Honda 8 HP and weighs about 100 pounds. The company calims the bracket is good to 169 pounds. My 100 pound motor should be well below the safe working load of the bracket.

Purchased bracket & it had an minor engineering defect which resulted in cosmetic damage to the hull of my boat. Advised Garelick and tried to keep it simple by asking them to simply send me relacement componet (small spring). The only option Garelick offered was to disable boat for weeks while they examined bracket. Now I want my hull repaired and will never endorse or purchase another Garelick Product
