Brand: Pela
Located in: oil change systems
With a 14 liter capacity, the PELA Pro 14 is the largest on the market. It comes with a new improved, patent pending mechanism. For durability, the pump unit is also housed inside the container. Just pump 20 to 25 times in a row to create a powerful vacuum and then watch the oil drain into the see-through, calibrated container. An internal float switch shuts off extraction automatically when full. Ideal in the workshop for servicing large engines or several smaller ones before emptying. Ideal for boats with large diesels and those with twin engines.

Comments about Pela Pela Pro 14 Liter Oil Extractor:

The unit arrived with checkvalve on bottom of container. I tried to get my answers on how important it was, before I used it or sent it back.

The unit works fine, but Pela wasn't very helpful. The checkvalve doesn't need to be in the unit for its use.

Works OK.

Comments about Pela Pela Pro 14 Liter Oil Extractor:

I purchased this unit specifically to change the oil in my four-stroke Yamaha F-150 outboard engine and was extremely satisfied with the results. After the engine has been run, simply feed one of the 3 clear plastic oil-extraction tubes, included with the unit, into the the engine dip-stick tube until it won't go any further. Stroke the pump 25 times. The oil will fill the tube, then watch the tank unit as the spent oil level rises. When the oil has been drained from the engine, you will hear air being sucked into the oil extraction tube (you will still have some oil left in the oil filter, as is typical). I estimate that what little oil was left in the sump of the engine was no greater than had I drained via the oil plug. I have changed my tractor oil, lawn mower and chipper shreader, all with very satisfactory results. I've only had the unit a few weeks, so I can't attest to long term durability (this is the only reason I gave 4 verses 5 stars). However, the unit seems very solid and well constructed. I am satisfied.

Comments about Pela Pela Pro 14 Liter Oil Extractor:

The unit feels and looks very dependable. Con- It took me 45+ minutes per engine (8 qts each) to extract the oil. I warmed up both engines and used the medium diameter tubing witch is the largest I could fit in the dipstick tube. In my opinion this pump is very impracticle. I must have pumped this unit 500 times per engine, not 20-25 as advertised.
