I purchased this about a year ago. It worked well the one time I really needed it when I unexpectedly had to boat several miles on a dark and rainy night and needed to spot docks etc. It got soaking wet once and stopped working. After recharging it, it worked again. No problems ever since then. So far, so good.

The light is larger and heavier than I expected. The battery is responsible for most of the weight. But the battery also lasts longer than I had expected, and the larger size allows for a LOT of light from the large reflector. I have not had opportunity to use it in fog or smoke, but it penetrates through water and glass with no glare. The beam is well focused, with great range and minimum distortion, but still offers adequate peripheral light dispersion. The multiple options for recharging and powering the light make it extremely versatile. I'm happy as a clam at high tide!

Excellent for finding bouys in the dark, also fish in the water thanks to the non-reflective lens.

My old spotlight was only battery dependent. When the battery wore out, the spotlight was no use. With this spotlight, if the battery runs out, I can use the cord to power the spotlight. That is added security. The spotlight with the battery installed was lighter than I expected.
