Comments about Paws Aboard Paws Aboard Doggy Boat Ladder:
We were excited when we found a ladder that would help our dog climb aboard as he aged. We are not pleased with this product. Like the previous poster, we also had to make adjustments to our ladder. If any boat wake or if our dog did not climb straight up the ladder, it would slip off our boat ladder. The plastic support pieces would fall off the sides and the ladder would collapse with our dog on it. We added the more secure attachment to our ladder to hopefully avoid this. We still had issues with our dog (89 lb golden retriever) climbing on-board and ladder collapsing. The plastic pieces that kept the ladder extended and locked kept falling off and I was unsuccessful recovering it the last time before it sank. The extra support device scratched some of the white protective coating off our boat ladder. I have not contacted paws aboard as the previous poster had b/c we the yellow plastic side piece sank. I will contact Paws Aboard to see if improvement works. I still have the receipt. The ladder has been stored in our attic since July 2007.

We had to modify it to fit our ladder, once it is set up, it is easy to install and remove. The plastic parts that lock the folding section fell off and sunk in the lake, I ordered replacements from Paws Aboard directly and they have made inprovements to the parts including a locking pin to avoid that. Been very happy ever since, our Mastiff is 130 lbs and it supports him.
