Comments about Myak Myak Kid's Kayak- Green:
I purchased the Myak last month (March 2007) for my grandchildren to use in the waterways of coastal North Carolina. We live near the sound with access to areas of slack currents and protected by shoals and small islands. My grandson who is eight years old had the opportunity to try the Myak over the Easter holidays. His parents have a two seat kayak so he is familiar with kayaking, but he was excited about learning to kayak on his own. What a perfect learning tool the Myak is! He did great. He was able to climb aboard and grab the paddle from its holder with ease. He maneuvered the Myak with little difficulty after basic instructions. The small size made for easy handling especially in the narrow canals. The best part for me was the safety comfort level that I felt. Because of the hull design, the children can’t swamp the boat and be stranded with a sinking kayak. If they turn it over while playing, they can flip it right back over, jump on, and paddle away. I like that the edges for seating, feet, and sides are rounded and smooth. The size and shape are great for us. The compact size with the squared end makes transporting a breeze. With the backseat of my car folded down, I can put the Myak in the trunk and close it up! Because the Myak weighs less than 30 lbs, it is easy for me to load and carry (remember I’m the grandma). Even though it is compact, the Myak will holds my weight with no problem, so I know the grandkids, even the older ones, will be using it for years.
