How refreshing to purchase a product that is not only made well but designed well, for a specific purpose. All the necessary accessories, nuts, bolts, all included. The materials are durable, strong and made to last for years, instructions are easy to understand too. Thank you for a great product at a fair price, plus its made in the USA.

works good for backing up the trailer but the light caps fell off the first trip before i reached the boat ramp. Take the lights and caps and throw them away and buy pvc caps instead.

Comments about Smith Smith Post Guide-On, 40'' Height:

Bought 2nd set, as 1st sold off with older boat.

Installs easily and securely. Added a larger screw to secure the lens to lamp base (prevents it from twisting 0ff). And I also used yet another 1/2" x 6 screw to secure the lamp base to PVC post -- drilled a pilot hole through both 3/16" down from top of post. They include the right size as a 3rd screw in the kit, which I used for this.

I also filled both ends of the "L" post with expanding insulating foam, which is supposed to be waterproof. This might help keep water out, as I frequently launch in salt water and water tends to sit in the bottom of the "L" tubing.

These guide posts help keep the boat centered well on a tidal launch ramp or if it's windy, but they also aid greatly in trailering. I have mounted all my other lights up high on these PVC posts. These really pay for themselves as an aid for backing up -- my wife is a PRO with these, she can put the boat & trailer anywhere!

Both lights worked after install, one went out five minutes down the road, second went out on the return trip and then the lense cap blew off at 65 mph. Poor quality. Install a white PVC cap.

I would recommend this product to anyone, however they should throw the light kit away and put pvc caps on the the uprights, or make a lens cap that stays on more than 20 minutes. Lost the lens cap on the first trip out (about 1/4 mile to the lanch site).
