Comments about Danielson Danielson Folding Crab Trap 24'':

I've used these for many years here in Washington state. I swapped the doors for the weighted ones, and use bait boxes with a few pounds of diving weights in them to keep the traps on the bottom. They are finally wearing out after 10 years, but I've lost count of the crabs we have brought home :) I'll be replacing these with the same thing.

Comments about Danielson Danielson Folding Crab Trap 24'':

The Danielson traps are of great value to us and have worked very well over the years; we currently have 16 of them. The come unrigged with non-weighted doors. We have learned that the weighted doors improve retention of the crab. These pots are very attractive to the occasional crabber that goes out a couple times a season, because they are designed to collapse into a nice flat square for easy storage. We store ours in San Diego and use them in central California or further north. They are a little wobbly when put together but you can make them more rigid by using plastic “tie wraps” at the corners, top and bottom. We also add weight to the inside bottom of the traps to keep them from moving if you leave them in the water overnight connected to floats. We also use the pyramid shaped bridal, connecting it to the four corners on the top of the pot.

Again, a great value for the money and if you take care of them, they last a long time. Eight (8) of ours are over 7 years old and still producing.

For a light weight short soak 3 to 12 hours this is a great trap. For longer soaks and if you have a pot puller get the octagon.

This pot works as well as any I have tried and is considerably cheaper than others that are not significantly different.
For best results, replace the doors with weighted doors.

Comments about Danielson Danielson Folding Crab Trap 24'':

I was happy to receive the product. That is where the happy part ended. I assembled the item, then put it to work and the result over 2 days using to trapps not crab. I guess this different type of design does not work. PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY.
