Using an exclusive Howard Process Double-Built blank, Shakespeare incorporated an E-glass outer construction over a graphite core. The result are fishing rods that are lightweight yet retain superior strength. Each rod features a custom hand-wound diamond wrap, blank-though-handle construction, fully underwrapped guides and full epoxy outer coatings for extra protection from UV rays. Ugly Custom rods are available in bigwater, inshore and surf models. Most rods are constructed with genuine Fuji reel seats and guides. Inshore models feature Fuji New Concept Guide System. Surf rods feature rubber cork tape fore and rear grips. Stand-up rods feature Stuart aluminum reel seats.

This rod has the speed and strength to keep those big Blackfish out of the wrecks after you hook them. You know, wreck fishing for the big Blackfish is tough on equipment. I have had this Ugly Stick for 12 years and never even broke an eye, wraps are still good. A real winner
