Senator trolling rods are 6'6" tubular blanks with a solid tip for durability. An aluminum gimbal, Slick Butt II rod butt, anodized aluminum reel seat and Aftco stripper guide and tip top makes the rod complete. All guides are underwrapped. Performance matched to a variety of Penn reels.

I bought this rod to mount my old Penn 6/0 reel with 80# test Power pro line. This has handled the reel, line and associated fish very well. I would recommend this and will buy another.

I bought this to hold an old penn Senator 6/0 reel. I used it yesterday and it fit the bill ok. Nothing extrordinary, just a basic functional rod to fish with. The price is what I was willing to spend. You can spend alot more for a rod that is alot fancier and probably made with better materials, but this suits my needs. I am sure it would be laughed at by the "fisher-snobs" but if you are budget minded, this works. The rollers worked nice and smooth, the action was nice. It felt perfectly balanced with the 6/0. Nice rod butt removable rubber cap for comfortable stand up action. I feel like the Penn quality means it will function as designed and last as long as I take proper care of it.
