Speed can be hazardous to fish! The 6.0:1 gear ratio will help you catch more fish...period. With certain fish, including wahoo, tuna, bonito, albacore and kingfish, a super fast retrieve is necessary to entice a strike. SpeedMaster's? total freespool also allows it to be cast easily. Features: ball bearing titanium drag, stainless main and pinion gears, stainless reel foot, aluminum spool, strike alarm and a power handle. Frame is built tough from strong, non-corrosive one-piece graphite/titanium. TSM4 holds 330 yds. of 30 lbs. test.

This reel can rip a fish outta wreck with ease and has the speed to out run preditory fish looking to eat your catch This is also a good reel to load with line and let it rip in the surf.I definitly recomend a light rod because the reel has sum weight to it. It will get heavy after awhile. Overall a sweet reel.

I originally bought this reel for fishing for sharks from a kayak. I have not landed any monsters yet but I do believe when he is hooked this reel will do the job (holds plenty of line) drag is not jerky. For the price the overall quality is nice (instant anti reverse would be nice). I have a 10’surfrod and 7’ boat rod that as of now this reel gets changed between. I have not had it offshore yet. If it holds up until June of 09 I may have to get another to dedicate to the other rod. I will update my rating after some more use.

Great reel for the price.

I've owned two of these reels for about eight years.
The high speed retrieve is very helpful when throwing iron or when you have a lot of line to wind in when bottom fishing. With proper care and maintenance, they've lasted a long time and are still going strong.
