Use for Casting lures to yellowtail, albacore, wahoo, tarpon, striped bass, bluefish and cobia. Perfect for Trolling: they are lighter and easier to handle than other lever drag reels. Comments about Shimano Shimano Lever Drag Reel:

The TLD 15 is a very sturdy, reliable reel. I use mine every other weekend or so on my local drift boat. Here it takes the abuses of salt and drag screamin kings with no problems. Since the reel has a completely graphite frame, maitenece is low.All youhave to do is rinse it lightly and wipe it down with some Penn Rod and Reel cleaner and it will last for years. I have had mine for about 3 1/2 years now with this matenence only.

Caught a 400 to 500lb sawfish with this reel using 80lb test in the Keys.Guide told me his client caught a 900lb sawfish with no problems (except a 4 hour fight). Can't beat it for the money.

Comments about Shimano Shimano Lever Drag Reel:

I use TLD15 for Kings and TLD25 for Dolphin and deep bottom fishing. The lever drag is great for those just starting out. It will keep rookies from horsing down too much and breaking good fish off!

Comments about Shimano Shimano Lever Drag Reel:

I have both TLD 15 and TLD 25's which I use on my charter boat here in NC. These reels are so versatile, the 15's are good for nearshore bottom fishing and trolling for kings, dolphin and sailfish. The 25's have served me well for grouper fishing, and gulfstream trolling for yellowfin tuna and wahoo. The smooth drags have helped my clients in long battles with big fish. The light weight and lever drag systems have helped even the rank novice to successfully fight trophy fish. Highly recommended for the occasional as well as pro angler.

Great trolling reel with great drag control.
