I use this reel ocean fishing for Halibut, lingcod and Tuna. It is very smooth and the drag is excellent. I have used this reel for 5 years w/o any malfunctions.... The gears are strong. I match the reel up with a 30-50lb BWB 7ft ugly stick or tiger rod with 30 or 50lb line (mono).
