Comments about Penn Penn Special Senator 114H 6/0 Aluminum Reel:
I fish on "Party or Head Boats" in West Palm Beach/Lantana Florida area. The water depth is deep and the fish are of all size's on the bottom to top water fish. The 6/0 reel can handle everything I'v caught, in the past 40 years, sailfish, kingfish, baracuda, sharks cobia and all kinds of bottom fish. With the fast current of the Florida straights fishing is important to get your bait down to the fish fast, and as we all can admit when you miss setting the hook, retreaval time and less cranks allows you to get back down to the fish once re-baited. The Penn reel allows me to do just that, reel up or down quickly and fight the fish once hooked. I started on a Penn Senetor 4/0 with my dad years and years ago and I still have my dads original Penn Senetor 4/0 reel, some 30 years later and it still works great. From one true fisherman with 25 years of active duty Coast Guard experiance in Florida, years of fishing experiance even with Halibut and king salmon fishing in Alaska and I'm now retired, I still relay on the Penn name and quality for all my fishing needs. Its a name I trust and a quality I relay on. Own it for life? Yes I still have my dads 4/0 and will pass it to my son's when its time. For now, I'm still and always will fish with Penn rods and reels. You really should too and have that something special that your son's and daughters remember you by including the love you give to them.

Comments about Penn Penn Special Senator 114H 6/0 Aluminum Reel:
Excellent heavy duty type reel. Feels like it can haul in Jaw's younger brother. However, not very good for casting. It is old school in that after you cast you have to develop a "feel" for controling the spin of the spool so that the line does not get tangled. Personally I don't have time to be playing with a knotted line while everybody else on the party boat is catching fish. However, if you are the type of fiserman that does not like to jig; and instead puts bait on the line and drops it in slowly for big game fish, this is the reel for you. In short, this is a specilized reel with an intended use. It is for heavy fishing by crusty old fishermen who's philosophy is; "It's not the arrow that kills, it's the indian."
