The first International that fits in the palm of your hand! The most advanced baitcasting reels ever. The American-made International 955/965 are true to their legendary name sake. Designed and built expressly for saltwater fishing...and the raw power of saltwater fish! These reels are built like an International with light-weight, one piece, forged aluminum frames (not die cast like other baitcasters). The frames, spools and side plates feature a deep, distinctive, gold anodized finish that provides the durability and corrosion resistance saltwater anglers have come to expect from Internationals. Super duty, high speed gears for unfailing strength and fast retrieves. Built Penn tough with a machined, high strength bronze alloy main gear and a machined stainless steel pinion gear - for the strength to take on the world's most powerful inshore game fish. The fast 4.75:1 gear ratio lets you gather up to 20.6 inches of line for every complete turn of the handle. Infinite anti-reverse for rock solid hook sets. Thanks to a specially designed one-way roller bearing, handle kick back is eliminated. This results in solid, positive hook sets and silky smooth, quiet performance. Two aircraft quality, sealed stainless steel ball bearings, plus a third one-way roller bearing with stainless steel rollers. Oversized, multi-disc HT100? Star Drag System. Offers the smooth stopping power of reels twice the size. The new ergonomically designed star wheel is infinitely adjustable over a wide range of settings. Other quality features: positive level wind system; zirconium oxide line guide with titanium nitride coating; positive push button free spool; auto engage with turn of the handle; adjustable, three-level centrifugal brake casting control; stainless reel seat; loud, easy-to-use clicker; soft grip padded handle. 955 Holds 200 yards of 12 lb. test line. 965 Holds 240 yards of 15 lb. test line.

Comments about Penn Penn International Baitcast Reel:

I got this reel from a friend who didn't like it because he backlashed it a lot. I reset the spool tension on it and can cast it as far, if not further, than all of my Ambassaduers. I've never had a problem with the line tangling around the guide. This is one tough reel!I highly recommend to novices and professionals alike. Novices may want to take it slow as it will over run like a champ! That's why, when it came out, it won many many casting competitions(it is so smooth)
