This is the best buy on the market for a reel in this class. I have used these reels for 12 yrs of charter fishing in Port O'Connor TX and they hold up to the salt better than any other reel. They have caught everything from redfish to king mackeral to tarpon. Great Deal.

THIS REEL WILL LAST A LIFETIME IF MAINTAINED I HAVE SEVERAL AND ONE THAT IS OVER 50 YEARS OLD AND IS GOOD AS NEW (I HAVE SPENT $10.00 ON IT OVER ITS LIFETIME). THEY ARE GREAT LIGHT SALT WATER AND HEAVY FRESH WATER REELS, AFTER USE JUST WASH WITH SOAP AND WATER DRY AND OIL...EASY. I WISH PENN WOULD MAKE ONE IN HIGH SPEED.

This is a durable reel that will literaly last you a life time. It has steel berings instead of brass witch last longer.It has good line capacity and has a very smooth drag. The only downside is that its gear ratio is a too slow, witch makes you have to wind twice as much. I would recomend this to anyone, begginers and avid fishermen, who like to river fish and drift fish.
