The Epixor uses Okuma's patented live bait feeding system. One easy-to-reach lever disengages the spool, letting line run freely. The tension of the free spool can be controlled with an easy-to-reach rear adjustment. Nine stainless steel, sealed bearings and a one-way clutch-bearing make these reels smooth. the Quick-Set anti-reverse system guarantees rock solid hook sets, and eliminates handle play. this uniquely shaped and styled reel features Okuma's newest design; a machined cut handle arm and a soft comfortable handle knob. The series is offered stock with an extra aluminum spool for easy line changes. Refined and stylish, the Epixor EB is perfect for any fresh water or inshore angling.

I've had the EB50 and 80 for about 3yrs. I use them both with 30# braid and a 10' rod for surf fishing. Never a problem. Smoother than a Shimano in the same price range.

Comments about Okuma Epixor Baitfeeder Reels:
I've fished Florida waters for over 40 years and have been using my EB-30 and EB-50 in salt water estuaries for over 5 years and haven't had a single problem (I have two of each). Use the baitfeeder feature with the rear drag set so it doesn't free spool, combined with live or dead bait and a circle hook. Let the fish run with the bait, reel in a bit and he's hooked, usually in the corner of the mouth. I've used them both on the east and west coast of Florida and the EB-30 this past summer in Utah. Great reels.

Comments about Okuma Epixor Baitfeeder Reels:
This reel's achille's tendon is its seals. The fact that it comes with extra seals should have been a hint. After only a few uses, salt- water had penetrated the reel interior; and gummed up the gears, bearings, and the baitfeeder drag. After a thorough cleaning, and replacement of seals, it was only a few more trips on the water and the baitfeeder drag adjustment was frozen up. Even after completely rinsing the reel after each trip, and using Reel Magic for protection, the seals failed to keep the interior workings protected. Okuma needs to figure out how to seal this reel.
