One word describes this reel - EASY.
Easy to cast, easy to control. The Patented Smart Mag Brake combines the magnetic and mechanical brake into one, easy adjusting dial allowing you to control the speed of line coming off the spool. The results, more distance and little backlash. The smallest large capacity round reel has 5 bearings and instant Anti- Reverse and gear ratio 5.3:1.

The wife and I each got one of these reels last season.Seems like a perfect flounder reel.We liked them much better than our spinning reels.

One of the best reels that I own you can never go wrong with a garcia. If you cant use this reel you should go back to your snoopy combo.

NOT EASY AT ALL !

after reading the instructions and practicing everyday this reel did not even come close to what it was reported to be able to do. bird nesting was a continual nightmare. after many many adjustments , I never did get it to cast correctly. I just gave up on it and I continue to use my old conventional reel.
