The highly polished chrome-plated bronze rope/chain gypsy and poly-composite control arm with heavy-duty spring ensure smooth operation. In addition to its compact, elegant design, the Genius 600 features power consumption 30-50% less than, high-speed retrieval averaging 40% faster than, and a weight 45% lighter than any other windlass with an equivalent maximum working load. A completely on-deck windlass, the Genius 600 is easy to install, with just four simple fasteners. Clutch handle releases the gypsy for manual free fall. Everything needed for installation, except the wire, is included in the box-windlass, rope/chain gypsy, control panel with toggle switch, dual direction solenoid, circuit breaker, clutch handle, stainless mounting hardware, gasket, owner's manual. Accepts 1/4" high-test chain and 1/2" three-strand nylon line. 12 Volt, 500 Watt motor. Max. Pull: 1499 lbs.

We needed a good windless for our Pro-craft,Boaters World turned out not only to have the best choice but the best price as well.Thinking the installation was going to be rough, we dreaded it, but by just sitting down with a cold one and reading the "magic "
Instructions that were inclosed, in nothing flat it was installed,wired and anchor rode was installed. Really about a 1/2 day job that is really alot of fun, espically the pulling contest between you and the windless(windless always wins). But its fun to try.

Good strong windlass

This windlass is stronger than many other similar ones. Has a nice look and good finish. There are two slight negatives to point out. There is no remote freefall. You need to go to the windlass and release it to go into freefall. It does lower with the helm switch but only at the speed of the windlass. The other is the speed. Due to its great strength it is geared to pull but it is not real fast.
