Everyone knows that Powerwinch trailer winches are the leader in the marine industry. They've incorporated their proven design features into their new line of anchor windlasses for boats measuring 20' to 45'. Their patented FreeFall system drops the anchor at up to 375 feet per minute - up to 6 times faster than powering it down! Stainless steel is used for all critical components - rode and chain guidance systems; drive shafts; and fasteners. The triple-coated nylon finish on the aluminum housing will not chip or crack. Watertight seals and heat treated oil impregnated gears assure smooth, corrosion resistant operation. Sleek styling, with a small footprint takes up 40% less deck space than other designs. Above deck installation leaves plenty of room for anchor rode storage below. All units can be operated from the helm station.

Comments about Powerwinch Windlass:

Windlass performs well as advertised, but is very prone to damage if the manufacturer's limitations are not strictly followed, and it may not be very forgiving. Retreives and deploys very well and fast. Cannot stop the anchor during free fall. Cannot torque the anchor into the pulpit for anchor storage. Each of these may and probably will cause damage to the unit requiring repairs. Not a problem though if the manufacturer's operating instructions are followed.
