This is a good rod for ocean fishing from marlin to dorado including tuna . It is a great work horse and I'm not afraid to hook anything with it ! It still lets you feel like you have a fight on your hands with a 15 lb. dorado but if a 500lb malin gets your line you can still have it and feel good about having that size fish on the other end of your rod .
