Excellent reel, pole is now used as a back-up pole to my STAR rod. Outfitted reel with 36lb backing, 300 yards of 50lb power pro, uni to uni knot to 50lb flurocarbon. Use is for casting to school Blue Fin Tuna. Worth the price. The cost was about the same for the rod and reel at boaters world as the reel (alone) is at the local tackle shop.

The rod is decent. The reel falls apart. Not the quality I expect from Penn. Dont bother trying to get parts for it from Penn. They arent interested in helping you. They will blow you off and give you a lame excuse. Just order your parts locally and pay for it. Dont bother filling out your warranty paperwork.
