Comments about Penn Penn 220GTO 8"6" Downrigger Combo:
I bought a pair of these combos for downrigger salmon fishing using Scotty 1060 electrics. Both broke during the second season of use - within 2 weeks of each other. They broke on the upper piece just above the joint from stress. Boatersworld replaced both after obtaining authorization from Penn - raised eyebrows when I brought the second one in. Nice price combo, basically a good reel for the price with a throwaway rod. but not suitable as downrigger rods.
