great rod and reel combo. Icaught plenty of fish on the first time out. It delivers great action and line speed retreival. I caught big mutton snapper to large gruoper and some cobia with this combo!

It's a good name brand product with features that are easy for a novive to pickup. Self leveler solves the problem of hand guiding the line in. Give it to a novice or young adult and not worry about locking up the spool on an uneven retreive.

I bought four of these combos. All have performed wonderfully. I have been using 30# line while trolling for stripers in the Chesapeake. The poles are responsive to strikes and the reels stand up to trolling heavy rigs.

I normally use the Combo for Grouper and Snapper. The outfit has no problems handling these brutes. Brought in a 45lb Cobia with no problem. I have recommended the combo to friends and they are very happy with it.

Good price point and it has performed well bottom fishing and trolling. Landed big grouper, kingfish, cobia and sharks with no problem.

Could use either a stronger rod tip guide or possibly go to a roller style rod tip guide.

Level wind on reel is great but somewhat limits amount of line which can be loaded without binding. Overall, very pleased.

I got this product to round out my fishing gear. Its a very good all round rig. Excellent for trolling and good for deeper bottom fishing for grouper. Easy to maintain and appears to be bullet proof. I plan on getting for for my wife this fall.

Great Rod for trolling with deep water lures or large dive planes. The 330 GT2 reel works great and performed flawless. All considered its a good boat rod when going for large kings or amberjack especially considering the price.

used for both bass and blues . 1 with 20 lbs one with 30 like the 20. it can stop the big blues not a cold stop but a stop . i like it a lot. one reel can troll or bottom fish i will enjoy it in all seasons.

I received the combo and used it within a week. Recommended it to at least 2 friends who have orderded it after seeing mine at work. Great for West coast waters. Can't wait for yellowtail season. Supposed to be a trolling combo but is flexible enough for coastal bottom fishing. A great set up for someone who doesn't want to have to bring 3 or 4 poles on a 3/4 day trip.

Bought a new boat and fish the Tampa Bay area and some off shore. This is a great value for a trolling combo. Rig with 25 to 30 pound mono. Durable, solid equipment that does not cost you a fortune. Have caught some good sized Grouper and Kings with this combo and would recommend to anyone.

Of course the 330 GTI is a fantastic reel, but somehow the ceramic inserts on the last two eyes on my Slammer rod was just disappeared. I never even got to catch a fish with the rod. If it happens again, they will have to give me a different rod. I can't afford to have the ceramic inserts disappearing when I am fishing or while a fish is on.

For the price you cannot beat this deal. The 330 GTi is a solid reel. The rod is much better then I thought it would be. I have had no problem with the rod and I have been giving it some extensive use. I highly recommend this combo. It compares to those twice the price.

I have 2 psb6630 rods but run a senator 113 reel on one and an older 309 levelwind on the other The 309 combo is great for bottom fishing the reefs for snapper and grouper and I have pulled in some nice mahi and tuna with the senator reel on my other rod while trolling
I am happy with these rods and am sure the advertised reel will live up to the quality you expect from penn

What seemed like a very good value, turned out to be less so. I bought two of these combo's. Unfortunately, while I opened the box to inspect for shipping damage (there was none), I didn't look closely enough. The tip eyelet was missing on one rod. Not broken off in shipping, just missing completely. Since I would have had to pay for shipping the entire order back to get that rod replaced (I asked to just ship the one rod, answer was no), it was easier to just scrap that rod and buy an ugly stick to match with the nice Penn Reel. Used for sturgeon fishing on the Columbia River with 80 lb line, and performed fine. With free shipping and no tax, even with only one usable rod, it was still a good value. Inspect them carefully when they arrive.
