Comments about Lowrance Globalmap 5300C GPS/Chartplotter:
The chartplotter is a very good product. I know other boaters who have spent much more and wished they had this one after seeing mine operate. Nice large dispalay for the size. Easy to operate and quick to learn. Tons more features than I will probably ever use. On the negative, Lowrance needs to do something with the people running there rebates and promotions. It's obviouusly an offshore phone center. I have been waiting for my NauticPath chart chip since April. They sent me the wrong chip after a six week wait and each time I call, they give me the same "sorry, we will send another. Please wait 30 days". It's been five months and still no chip. I've called three times. That aside, I love the chartplotter itself.

Comments about Lowrance Globalmap 5300C GPS/Chartplotter:
This is one of the greatest small craft gps units I have ever used. Easy to install out of the box, and the acid test was that I purposely did not read the ops manual initially to see how friendly it was. Absoluteley amazing! I could set it up for the majority of basic navigation modes without the user guide! And i cant even figure out my cellphone yet! Big bright easy to read display even in full sun. The engineers at lowrance really got this one right! I do wish however some small protective caps were provided with the unit to cover the rear unused power ports. Other than that, a five star unit!

This unit works great. The default maps show great detail and the screen is highly visible in bright sunlight.
