Comments about Raritan Raritan Raw Water Strainer:
Durability is a real issue. Cover threads on the body cracked allowing air into strainer, causing the pump impeller to disintergrate, which in turn caused motor to overheat...not a good situation at sea. The Raritan strainer was about 5 years old, never mistreated, the cap threads were kept lublicated with suitable grease as recommended by the manufacturer and never overtightened. Although its supposed to be suited for marine/boat application, I stongly suggest spending more and getting a more study and durable raw water strainer.
