this is a great combination that i love to fish any time i hit the water. This is a great rod and reel combo. The reel is super smooth with a rod that is very sensitive. The only thing that i do not like about it is that is is not a good combination for really shallow water fishing such as little creeks and rivers. This product is more for open water. It is a stiffer rod than i would use, but it all depends on you
