This has caused my GPS to be on the console, turned on, and useful. Before my GPS often stayed home, or came along but didn't get turned on because I had a steering wheel in one hand, and a throttle or rod in the other. This inexpensive part makes my GPS much more useful. Rough waves don't shake it loose in the ocean, but I can put it in or take it out with one hand. My GPS doesn't get left behind anymore!
