This is as close as it gets to total protection for your device. The only thing that it lacks is being waterproof. I was sold on this product when a friend dropped his iPhone in a 5 gallon bucket of paint. He immediately rinsed off the Otter Box case it was in and kept on working. I have also dropped mine on a hardwood floor and no damage to my pod.
