Comments about Davis Instruments Davis Instruments Mark 3 Sextant Plastic Marine Sextant Mk III:
This is a demonstration sextant that is probably accurate to only 0.5 degree, if that and that's not good enough to do real navigation. You need to have a sextant that is at least theoretically accurate to 0.1 minute in the hands of a practiced navigator. This unit used to sell for [$] years ago and was overpriced then. You will be lucky to get within 10-20 miles of your position with this. This is a classroom model which demonstrates the general idea of a sextant, but in no sense should ever go to sea for any reason. A waste of money even for learning purposes.
