Got this MXL MC for surf fishing. Put it on a Breakaway HDX 12 ft. rod and spooled with Sufix Tritanium 20lb. This combo is a dream to cast. I set the mag control very low 2ish and have not even had a hint of a backlash. Doesn't matter if I am casting cut bait and 2oz of weight or whole mullet and 8 ozs of weight, every cast has been thumb off, easy. Love this reel so much I am buying a second.
