Performance you can count on when you need it. The HX600S-Li is capable of being connected to a GPS throught the charging cradle. This allows DSC distress calls to be transmitted along with your vessels position, a handy feature if you need to get off your vessel in a hurry.

Unique SOS Strobe light
In an emergency, the unique super bright LED distress strobe light, blinks internationally recognized SOS to visually signal another vessel.
Unique Audio Tone Control
The submersible HX600S produces 700mW (loud) of speaker audio output with Audio (bass and treble) Tone Control so you can hear communications even in the noisiest of environments.
AM/FM and Airband receive
Advanced receiver capabilities allow you to listen to FM music stations, AM broadcast band and Aeronautical bands.
Included accessories
Supplied with a high-capacity non-memory 1700mAh Litium-Ion battery, AC and DC charger with drop-in cradle
Additional features
Dedicated 16/9 key, user changeable channel names, NOAA weather channels with Alert, dual watch, tri-watch, programmable and priority scanning to keep you on top of what is happening on the water. Speaker microphones, headset and optional voice scrambler are an available options.

I bought it to use while sailing my 16' daulphin. I wanted VHF in case of a emergence, the weather band & FM are both big pluses. A excellent valvue, very happy with it.

Used for hiking and kayaking. Very clear mic, can speak from 2' away, plenty of volume as well. Could use a lanyard hook to go along with the good belt clip.

recreational boating, very small and handy for boating or kayaking. DCS works from the point of the last cradle install and only sends dcs out.

As a safety communication device while kayaking the coastal areas of South Florida this compact, powerful,waterproof marine radio has all the right features for allowing me to feel safe and in better
command of my environment.
If you have never used a marine radio before the instruction manual is not easy to follow and not to the level of expertise that this little radio can produce. I recommend rewriting the manual so the radio's best features are accented and explained to a novice buying this instrument.

The only thing that keeps this radio from getting five stars is that it does not float,
oh yeah, hardly any radios do float.

I like the compact size allowing it to be carried and used without getting in the way. Since my small sailboat does not have a hard-wired stereo system, I like to use the HX600S to listen to AM and FM radio music while on the boat.

Use on the sailboat and not be afraid of it getting wet or even going overboard. Great to use at home in bad weather to keep track of the weather. Quick drop-in charger for easy use. Nice belt clip that allows easy movement without the worry of the radio falling off.
