On my boat the smaller screen version like this hinders things a bit as it is far away. Would work great on boats less than 25' though. I'd probably spring for the larger screen if to do over again. Easy to work and the mapping is very easy to use. A good deal all in all.

Purchased to use on bassboat. It works in clean water but will not read bottom over weed bed where bass live. It just get garbled and becomes useless. The GPS frequently loses the satallite so it is not suitable for navigation or marking way points. In my opinoin it is very poor. I have resorted to using my old black and white 400tx Hummingbird.
Lowrance is aware of the problems as they have developed more than one firmware up grade. I ISTALLED THE LATEST BUT THERE IS LITTLE OR NO IMPROVEMENT.
I purchased my 520c from Online Marine but they will not accept a return. I am out the purchase price as this LMS 520c is simply junk in my opinion and experience. I will try to send it to Lowrance so thay have an opportunity to check it out. My many phone calls to them indicates it is a loser.

This is one of the most impressive pieces of electronics that I have ever owned. I was always afraid to go out in waters that I had never gone to before. But now with this GPS, I go all over without fear of getting lost. No boater should be without this piece of equipment.
