Comments about Raymarine Raymarine C80 Multifunction Display:

I bought the C-80 only because the C-120 was too big for my installation. This unit has a clear & bright display although challenged by direct sunlight. (The Navionics chip is a mandatory addition for proper navigation.) I only use my C-80 for navigation/chart plotting, depth/fish finder. The manual clearly explains all the features of the C-80 but does not fully explain the uses for all the functions ie: adjustable Gain, VRM settings, etc. The only other complaint I have is the C-80 is cumbersome to assign names to tracked courses and locations. My 1st C-80 display was stolen from the boat a year after I bought it. After again researching the other manufacturer's products I decided the C-80 was still the best unit for me and I replaced it. Garman was a close 2nd choice.

Comments about Raymarine Raymarine C80 Multifunction Display:

I have the C80 installed in a network with other older and newer Saetalk and NMEA instruments and autopilots.
I mainly use the chart plotter features when sailing on my 38´ cruising sailboad. The product was a bit tricky to install and takes some time to learn how to use it properly, but once i learnt it, i have learned to like it a lot. Especially impressive are the numerous integrations possibilities.

Comments about Raymarine Raymarine C80 Multifunction Display:

As a professional guide, I turn my Raymarine C80 on every day to a clear image that I am proud to show my customers. After some use you can predict types of fish and even their sizes.
The additional "add ons" like Sirius weather radar make the product even more valuable.

    Limited networking

    Bottom Line:

Comments about Raymarine Raymarine C80 Multifunction Display:

Provides virtually all info. needed for navigation. Chartplotter with Radar overlay is very useful--wonder how I lived without it until now.
Only weakness is lack of ability to network 2 units (to use one as a repeater). It would be nice to have them linked; 1 at the helm, and 1 at the nav. station.
Connectivity to XM radio weather would be nice, although
I hear there may be upcoming Sirius connection coming out in the future.
