Comments about Lowrance Lowrance X50DS Compact Dual Search 83/200 kHz Sonar:

Great product that i would most definatly suggest to anybody who is limited on space but wants an outstanding product. I use mine in the middle of my kayak, because of the whole space issue. Slightly more than buying a cuda or hummingbird but outperformas hands down and lasts twice as long.

Comments about Lowrance Lowrance X50DS Compact Dual Search 83/200 kHz Sonar:

I mounted this unit on the back of my Carolina Skiff to use when trolling in freshwater. When adjusted properly, which is easy to do, it is easy to find fish. The dual frequency transducer shouldn't be a deciding factor on purchase of this unit unless your are fishing water over 300' deep.

I use this product for off shore fishing. Easy to install design and instructions, wide range to find fish.
This product could be better if the 12volt connector is included so that I don't have to tap the battery.

Comments about Lowrance Lowrance X50DS Compact Dual Search 83/200 kHz Sonar:

I own larger Lowrance products and I am happy with them. Their software is superior to the rest of marine electronic products.
I installed X50 DS Fishfinder with no problem. The boat is a 19’ footer and the cable for the stern mount transducer that came with the unit was just long enough to go from center consol to the stern. My application is shallow waters. With slow driving on or near flats, the fishfinder is adequate. There are over a dozen of adjustable features including the Auto or Manual, sensitivity, size of fonts etc …
This unit has low profile that fits great in my small center consol.
Also, included in the package is an inline 3 amp fuse, and mounting backets.

overall a good basic entry level fishfinder. a good starting point. for the recerational fisherman, but if you fish a lot of tournaments you may want to up grade to a more diverse model.
