again, this unit seems to function much better than the original. Always thought the problems I experienced were in the transducer/ paddle wheel cause I just couldn't get temp, speed, distance or turn off the power and make it stay off without turning of my master switch on the console. For now, so far so good.

Still learning how to use. However it has been a good unit. Use mainly in local lake. Over a 1/3 less on the price with more options than some of the other brands.

in the ocean it was very good, the Bay it performed poorly. Screen was diff to see in the daylight.Temp sensor was shot in 1yr, and transducer was shot in less than 3yrs...

You can't do better for the quality/value. Used it in the Keys to identify deep structure and then search on the reefs. Just upgraded to the color unit and moved this unit to my other boat.

I was disappointed with the lack of nmea output so that the depth could be displayed on my chart plotter and radar. This would be no problem for some people.
