When filled, the cap vents thereby allowing fuel fumes to release. My garage smells like fuel and currently it winter so I could only imagine what it may be like in the summer when my garage heats up big time. I may have to store outside and covered. I would recommend to a friend but with warning. I also never received any documentation with the item.

It holds a ton of gas - thats not the problem: its getting the gas back out. The sump function sucks and when you drain by gravity it takes forever.
Comments about Moeller Marine Moeller Marine Duramax 14 Gallon Portable Tank w/Pump:
I was reluctant at first due to the weight and trying to unload it from the back of my truck. However, a ramp solved this problem and it is a must in filling my pontoon boat, atv, zero turn mower and other gasoline powered products. A toy accessory everyone should have.

This was a great idea for a great gift. Works well and Boaters World was Class A all the way !!!!
Comments about Moeller Marine Moeller Marine Duramax 14 Gallon Portable Tank w/Pump:
The hand pump on the hose is not fast enough for pumping several gallons uphill.
Is there a stronger manual pump available so the user won't have to lift the tank above the fill opening in the vehicle? This feature could greatly increase the usefulness of this tank.
Also, I understand why there is a handle latch on the hand pump but there needs to be a better way because it catches when pumping.

New England experienced an ice storm followed by a record snow storm. The Duramax 14 Gallon Portable Tank w/Pump by Moeller Marine Products was an early birthday gift for my husband. It took the sting out of hauling gas for the generator while we were without public utilities for 4 days. We have an off road vehicle for plowing (the original reason for purchase) and it is now being used to keep the plow going, removing almost 1 1/2 feet of snow!

We liked our 1st one so much for use in adding gasoline to our Bass Boat gas tank from our dock, that we purchased a 2nd one for our pontoon boat. Now we can gas-up without having to take the boats out of the water or paying inflated prices for gas at a marina. Great product for a great price, eacy & convenient to use.

Instead of lugging round a lot of fuel cans you only need one! It's a real time saver. I bought one for my brother-inlaw, and he loves it too.

This was bought as a gift [...] It is wonderful!

Most new "emergency" fuel tanks hold, at the most, five gallons and most now make it difficult to use to fill a vehicle because of their nozzle design. The Moeller unit holds up to 14 gallons and the nozzle mimics a gas station type. It is perfect! Uses gravity flow, so you have to use a stand to refill your car.

Easy and safe way to fuel boat & jet skis from dock.
Comments about Moeller Marine Moeller Marine Duramax 14 Gallon Portable Tank w/Pump:
The product has been great for fuelling my boat at the dock. I would highly recommend it.
Comments about Moeller Marine Moeller Marine Duramax 14 Gallon Portable Tank w/Pump:
Wheels won't turn and it is extremely slow. Oh yea, you have to lift it up above where you want to put the gas before it will flow out. Then after you put your gas in, the hose leaks gas everywhere and you have to unhook the hose to drain it back in the tank. Way too much trouble. [...]
Comments about Moeller Marine Moeller Marine Duramax 14 Gallon Portable Tank w/Pump:
Tank works great. It's easy to get out of the the back of the truck even when it's full. Wheels easily across the grass to the dock where we fill the 2 boats, alot cheaper than the marina

It saved me hundredes on gas this summer allready
Comments about Moeller Marine Moeller Marine Duramax 14 Gallon Portable Tank w/Pump:
I use the tank to buy/haul gas to my boat. (No marina on my river). Wheels don't freely turn, fairly heavy to carry, so overall I'm thinking 2 5 gal tanks would work better. I do like the pump though.
Comments about Moeller Marine Moeller Marine Duramax 14 Gallon Portable Tank w/Pump:
I am a landscaper and use the tank to fill my mowers. The product works prett well and is pretty sturdy. The only complaint I have is how slow the gas comes out. When the tank is full it flows pretty good but after it is about half empty it is slow. Other than that it is a pretty good product at a good price.
Comments about Moeller Marine Moeller Marine Duramax 14 Gallon Portable Tank w/Pump:
Not well made at all. I only used the product one time. Bad design and unsafe.
I bought it to refuel my boat. It worked Ok the first time I used it. Except you have to elevate the Duramax tank above the boat if what to use gravity feed and even then it tanks forever to empty it. I would say there is at least 2 gallons left in the tank that you cannot get to. The hand pump is almost useless.
The major problem is that overnight in my garage it leak a large about fuel. I had real mess in my garage the next morning. The hand pump was the problem. It was soaked in fuel. I would not recommend this product.

I started buying my gas on land not only to save money, but also, I felt the quality of the gas on land is better then what they are selling on the water....my motor, a 150 yamaha hpdi definitely runs better with the land gas...and the filters clog less.
Comments about Moeller Marine Moeller Marine Duramax 14 Gallon Portable Tank w/Pump:
over all works well. Would be better with a heavier duty hose and a lock open nozzle. During transport doesn't leak

My parents have a cabin on Lake Cavanaugh, and before this purchase it was very difficult to fill the boat with the "old style" gas can... which are difficult to pour, heavy, and took many trips with only a 5-gal can. Now it's easy with the 14-gal portable tank w/ pump! This product really helps my parents, as well as myself when I am there enjoying the lake. I would recommend the product, but not Boater's World.

Comments about Moeller Marine Moeller Marine Duramax 14 Gallon Portable Tank w/Pump:
The plastic nozzle is disappointing and the hose is thin tubing that kinks and restricts the flow or fuel.

Comments about Moeller Marine Moeller Marine Duramax 14 Gallon Portable Tank w/Pump:
The hose will not support it's own weight and kinks, collaspes and restricts the flow of gas. The so called pump is in the plastic nozzle and it not very useable.
Not worth the money
